Dragon Opera world premiere (Expired)

Image Gallery

The result of a pioneering collaboration between theatrical organizations from Greece, Poland, France and Bulgaria, the rock opera Dragon will have its world premiere from Thursday, September 19 to Saturday, September 21 at the Sti Skia Ton Vrachon (In the Shade of the Rocks) festival and at the Melina Merkouri theatre.

The show deals with frontiersmen – the border guards found in European myths and folklore. It includes relevant social messages for the multi-cultural and inclusive Europe of today, presenting age-old intercultural values in a timely idiom.

Dragon combines live music, song, dance, acrobatics, aerodynamic stilt walkers, circus techniques, marionettes, video installations, floats and fireworks. Much of the story revolves around the legend of Lancelot, who slays the dragon, saves the town and frees his beloved.
