Othello - Live Broadcast (Expired)

Image Gallery

The Athens Concert Hall starts this year’s live broadcasts from the Royal National Theatre with the production of “Othello”. Directed by Nicolas Hytner, this contemporary production is dedicated to perfecting the military practice and speech articulation of the time. The tightly-plotted psychological thriller stars Olivier Award-winning actors Adrian Lester as Othello and Rory Kinnear as the duplicitous Iago. The role of the fragile and exuberant Desdemona will be performed by Olivia Vinall, and Jonathan Bailey co-stars as Cassio.

The famous play revolves around the destructive power of jealousy. Othello, a Moorish General of the Venetian army, is lead down a pernicious path by the web of deceit connecting Iago, Desdemona, and Cassio. In the play’s final act, the audience shares in the loss, devastation, grief and guilt so brilliantly communicated through the exceptional talent of the play’s leading actor.

With Greek subtitles.
