City Lives: The city dweller(Expired)

Composer Alexandros Mouzas examines the layered life of the city dweller by deconstructing everyday reality in an 80-minute multimedia musical theatre performance at the Megaron Mousikis Concert Hall. This original work captures the dialogue between traditional and modern arts. With music, video and animation (Vicky Betsou) on one hand, and digital painting and comics (Alexia Othonaiou) on the other, Mouzas intertwines medias in a surprising libretto that takes its inspiration in the ideas of intellectuals like McLuhan, Castells and Simmel. This brand new show is an absolute must-see!

Through this performance, one can observe life on the streets through the eyes of a modern-day flâneur. The work brings to light though-provoking concepts that relate to who we are and who we want to be in relation to our social environment. It also centres on the persistent struggle for survival, money and power, the mass media, and the true self. The performance is dominated by man’s constant urge to analyse the Divine.

Soprano: Myrsini Margariti, Artemis Bogri; Mezzo soprano: Maria Vlachopoulou; Bass: Tasos Apostolou; accompanied by the Ergon Ensemble, led by Andreas Tselikas. There will be Greek surtitles.
