For the fourteenth year in a row, Technopolis will be offering you four nights filled with the sounds of the world’s greatest jazz bands!
This year’s programme is as follows:

Thursday, 29 May: 8.00pm-9.00pm Big Band of Athens. The band will play historical compositions and orchestrations by the pioneers of the Big Band genre. 9.00pm-10.00pm Egy Kiss Erzsi Zene (Hungary). The thrilling result of the blend of classical jazz with a rock edge, this band brings together elements of Central European and Balkan songs with jazz-rock. Kiss Erzsi will be singing with Árpád Vajdovich on the bass, János Bujdosó on the guitar and Csaba Németh on drums. 10.00pm-11.00pm Tamuz Nissim (Israel). The Israeli vocalist has a warm and expressive voice accompanied by her expert skills as a pianist. She will present to you the modern side of vocal jazz together with saxophonist Shauli Einav. 11.00pm-12.00am Singularity Project (Greece). Pianist Vangelis Stefanopoulos, saxophonist and flautist David Lynch, Nigerian guitarist Adedeji Adetayo, Cuban bass player Yoel Soto and drummer Giannis Angelopoulos will be playing pieces from the entire spectrum of contemporary jazz, starting with the basic sound and rhythm of African music and building to more advanced forms.

Friday, 30 May: 9.00pm-10.00pm Rembrandt Frerichs Trio (Netherlands). Contemporary jazz blends seamlessly with elements of classic jazz, improvisation, world music and much more thanks to this group who demonstrates a deep knowledge of American jazz. 10.00pm-11.00pm Ximo Tebar Band (Spain). This skilled guitarist and creator of the “Mediterranean sound” focuses on powerful Spanish elements. 11.00pm-12.00am Lylit – Löscher Duo (Austria). Two voices and one guitar in a wide-ranging R’n’B repertoire accented with soulful jazz sounds.

Saturday, 31 May: 9.00pm-10.00pm Reis/Demuth/Wiltgen (Luxembourg). Renowned pianist Michel Reis joins together with the group’s bass player and drummer to bring you modern and original jazz compositions incorporating strong elements of the European classical and folk musical tradition. 10.00pm-11.00pm Lama Trio (Portugal). An electro-acoustic chamber jazz performance featuring bass player Gonçalo Almeida with Susana Santos Silva on the trumpet and Canadian Greg Smith on drums. 11.00pm-12.00am Symmetry (Cyprus). Marios Toumpas on the piano, Michalis Messios on the contrabass and Ioannis Vafeas on drums delight your ears with a set of classic standards as well as their own original compositions.

Sunday, 1 June: 9.00pm-10.00pm Niccolò Faraci (Italy). This amazing sound designer, together with Lorenzo Paesani on the piano and keyboards, and Francesco Miccolis on drums, combines jazz with the concept of truly universal world music. 10.00pm-11.00pm OakTree (Belgium). Famous cellist Annemie Osborne and accordionist Thibaut Dille, join vocalist Sarah Kiene to embrace pop, Latin, French chanson, classical and Balkan music. 11.00pm-12.00am Ilhan Ersahin’s Istanbul Sessions (Turkey). The amazing saxophonist from Turkey puts some of the most beautiful aspects of contemporary world jazz on display in this performance.
