The Culture, Sports and Youth Organisation of the Municipality of Athens is offering seven days of music, children’s plays and screenings in the outdoor area of the National Archaeological Museum, in a friendly, festive atmosphere. The goal is nothing less than turning the entire city into a big cultural celebration!

The schedule:

Wednesday, 16 July: Musical Moments in Film by the Philharmonic Wind Orchestra, presenting music from landmark films.
Musical direction: Dimitris Michas

Thursday, 17 July: The Greek Music Workshop, Creations of Greek Composers. Manolis Skoulas and Dora Louizou will perform songs by Manos Hadjidakis, Mikis Theodorakis, Vassilis Tsitsanis and Manos Loizos.
Orchestral direction: Christos Chalkias

Friday, 18 July: The Magic Attic, an interactive show with live music for children aged 3 to 9 by Thomas Kindynis’ Morfes Ekfrasis [Forms of Expression] Art Organisation.

Monday, 21 July: Don Quixote, a play for children by the Magikes Svoures [The Magic Spinning Tops] company, under the auspices of the Cervantes Institute.

Tuesday, 22 July: Screening of the movie Suddenly, Last Summer, as part of the Athens Open Air Film Festival, under the auspices of the US Embassy.

Wednesday, 23 July: Athens Big Band Presents Swing, a music and dance show. Big Band is bringing back to life the golden age of swing through the Athens Lindy Hop’s spectacular dancers and imaginative choreography.
Orchestral Direction: Manos Theodosakis

Thursday, 24 July: The Haridimos Museum of Shadow Theatre presents Karaghiozi, the Castaway.
