The biggest sea sport event, the 51st Aegean Rally, will take place from 18 to 28 July. Get ready because Greek sailing is just about to... set sail!

The rally is being organised by the Hellenic Offshore Racing Club, and the Region of Attica will offer its excellent hospitality, both at the starting point and at the finish line of this great event.

The Hellenic Offshore Racing Club was founded in 1961 and is based in Piraeus. Its primary goal is to develop and promote offshore sailing throughout Greece, improve the art of sailing and maintain our naval tradition.

Ever since 1969, the Club has continuously been offering two-month courses via the Offshore Racing School, providing six training programmes every year. Apart from its training activities, the Club also organises great sailing rallies every year, the highpoint being the International Aegean Sailing Rally, which has been held since 1964 and includes the participation of mostly Greek racing boats, as well as many foreign boats.

The route of this year’s Aegean Rally will be: Faliro – Milos – Astypalaia – Ios – Sounion, which covers a total distance of ca. 330 nautical miles.
The start of the race will be sounded on Friday, 18 July, at 6pm at Faliro Bay, and it will finish at Sounion, on the afternoon of Saturday, 26 July.
