Image Gallery

The National Archaeological Museum will be staging a number of activities to mark the European Cultural Heritage Days.
All day on Saturday and Sunday, 27-28 September, visitors will be given a free educational guide, In search of different faces of time, to help them appreciate the museum by identifying the exhibits that best reveal the different dimensions of time and offering guidance on how one should view them and their place in history.
The event, based on the Theogony of Hesiod, is staged under the title The many stories of time – Genealogies and other myths. It mixes ancient and modern Greek, weaving a narrative of time as the Divine Principle (Arche) of song and language, the Cosmic Principle of all beings, the Theogenic Principle of the generations and, finally, as the Face of Myth.
Musical for the event: Musical Journey through Time, with works by Bach, Händel, Schumann, Brahms, Saint-Saëns and Albéniz.
