Robert Wilson: Video Portaits of Lady Gaga

This interesting exhibition being held at the Heliades Gallery is the creative result of a unique collaboration between the Louvre, Robert Wilson and Lady Gaga. The exhibition features video-portraits of the singer, which were shot in October 2013 in London and premiered a month later at the Louvre Museum as part of the Living Rooms exhibition.

In yet another innovative collaboration, the American artist, choreographer, director and performer creates portraits influenced by Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres’ Mademoiselle Caroline Rivière (1806), Jacques-Louis David’s The Death of Marat (1793) and Andrea Solario’s Salome with the Head of Saint John the Baptist (1507). In the video, the face and body of Lady Gaga are transformed, taking the form of Mademoiselle Rivière, while her face merges with that of John the Baptist.
