Aspasia Kouzoupi: Complex Signs (Expired)

Image Gallery

Hosted by the Zoumboulakis Gallery, Aspasia Kouzoupi’s Complex Signs is an exhibition that’s inextricably linked to the consciousness of spaces. Given that the artist specializes in urban scenery, her works are a natural progression of the installation created by the “Sculpted architectural scenery Golanda+Kouzoupi” team which has been on display at the Anastaseos intersection of Attiki Odos since 2005.  They comprise a series of collages of light-sensitive material on aluminium, connoting memories of road landscapes. The presentation of the exhibition will take place in sections. Some works will be displayed outdoors while others, which are consecutive parts of a single story, could also be moved indoors. In addition, there will be works which extend the geometry of the road motives as well as a section labeled “Ulysses/Forbidden” which investigates the common features of the setting solar disc and the forbidden sign.  Finally, the artist will present works made out of fluorescent materials, in total darkness.
