"Trio 92 & friends" (Expired)

They were all born in ’92—hence the name. Trio 92’s pianist Maciej Skarbek, violinist Magdalena Wieckowska and cellist Loukia Loulaki join forces with awarded double bass virtuoso Damian Posse for a unique performance at the Literary Society “Parnassos” on February 23rd.

The first part of the concert comprises Gioacchino Rossini’s romantic duet for cello and double bass in D major and Joseph Haydn’s Trio for piano, violin and cello no.44. The latter, along with Mozart’s concerts, are considered to be the most ingenious pieces of music of the pre-Beethoven era.

In the second part, Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Trio élégiaque no.1 in G minor—a a piece written by the famous composer at the age of 19—will be followed by double bassist and composer Giovanni Bottesini’s “Capriccio di Bravur” and Dmitri Shostakovich’s Trio for piano no. 2 in E minor (Op. 67) which was written amidst WWII in memoriam of his composer friend Ivan Sollertinsky.

The Trio 92 was created in September 2012 by young musicians who shared a passion for chamber music.  It debuted a month later in Poland, birthplace of two of its members.  The group’s current plan is to perform in Austria, Poland and Greece.

Damian Posse was born in1985 and started his soloist career at the tender age of 15. He was a member of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and Kaertner’s Ossiach Academy Orchestra in Austria, and has participated in performances with “Ensemble Berlin”. He has also held concerts in Austria, Croatia, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, France and China.
