Personal Portolan Chart (Expired)

Image Gallery

Awe-inspiring masses. boats, the Aegean seascape and traditional Cycladic architectural, all parts of a single theme.  Cubes, triangles, curves and rhombuses. Titled “Personal Portolan Chart” Yiannis Michas’s new painting exhibition opens a visual dialogue between light, reflection and refraction, using Greeks and the sea as his compass.

As a former naval architect, Yiannis Michas understands this relationship better than most and his paintings are inextricably linked to the ocean world. As such, ships and their hulls, people and their quests, take on a metaphysical meaning too.

Dream-like refractions, cubism and a liberal use of colors co-exist in the paintings of this exhibition, which opens at the Titanium Gallery on February 27th at 20:00.
