Image Gallery

Pietro Mascagni’s famed opera “Cavalleria Rusticana”, set during the Easter season in 19th-century Sicily, is a tale of young love filled with intrigue and drama. It will be performed at the National Opera this month in celebration of the Orthodox Easter and the 150th anniversary of the composer’s birth.

The production is filled with unique twists, including digital sets created by Evita Galanou and Thomas Voleberger, which will be used here for the first time, and a new setting for the opera’s famous duel: the secluded Greek island of Nisyros.
