SyntagmaArchaeological Collection

While excavating the site of Syntagma Metro Station, archaeologists discovered Classical-era copper moulding workshops for statues; a large burial ground dating from the pre-Mycenaean period; a Roman bath complex; a section of the Pisistratus Aqueduct; part of the bank of the ancient river Eridanus; and part of the road leading from the adjacent gate to the villages of Messogaea.

Today, sample finds are displayed in elegant showcases inside the station. Others are exhibited in an extensive outdoor museum near the university in Zographou.
