Following the excavations at Syntagma and completion of the metro station, the metro company created an outdoor archaeological site where passengers can view findings from two fourth-century-BC burial grounds.

Also on display is a portion of Pisistratus’ Aqueduct. Built in the early 6th century BC, its trench, dug into the soft rock, featured water ducts made of clay and was sealed with lead.

Two branches of this amazing aqueduct, meeting at a T-shaped junction, were also uncovered here.
