Bordered by Stadiou, Amerikis, Panepistimiou and Voukourestiou Streets, this imposing building, now home to the 'Attica' Mall, was at one time the Army Pension Fund Building. Centuries earlier, from the Ottoman occupation until the Second Hellenic Republic, this was the site of the royal stables.

As Athens grew, debate raged about whether or not to remove the stables. Finally, in 1927, designs by Vassileios Kassandras and Leonidas Bonis were selected in a competition, and construction on the Army Pension Fund Building began.

Emblematic of interwar European classicism, the building also includes elements of Hellenic classicism, with a touch of Art Deco.

Following its most recent renovation, the Mall now contains shops, offices and dining, as well as cinemas and other entertainment venues.
