Thirteen kilometres east of the capital city lies the coastal village of Agia Marina, which takes its name from the 17th-century chapel on the bay’s south side. Directly connected to the port of Piraeus, Agia Marina is a favourite destination for both Greeks and visitors.

The pristine beach is exquisitely complemented by the deep-blue water and towering pine trees surrounding it on either side. Agia Marina also offers a vibrant night life, especially in summer. For visitors seeking a more subdued experience, a trip back in time to the nearby Temple of the Aphaea is highly recommended.
