This traditional underground tavernaki is located on Kydathineon Street in Plaka. Owned by the Damigos family since 1865, it has operated continuously for 150 years, serving patrons from all over the world. Quotes by Moraitinis, Polemis and other writers of the time decorate the walls, while the old column standing in the centre of the room is also characteristic of the period.

The culinary speciality here is the one that gave the tavern its nickname, Bakaliarakia (fried cod, served cold with garlic sauce and retsina). Rounding out the menu are rich salads, warm or cold appetisers, exquisite cheese, fish, BBQ dishes and a wide array of fresh fruit and desserts.
