Located beneath the Syntagma Square, Syntagma Metro Station is the most central station in Athens’ vast Metro network, where Lines 2 and 3 converge with busses and trams.

Opened in 2000, this station is the central hub of the Metro network, housing many administration services, as well as a variety of multi-use areas.

Aside from the station’s impressive antiquities collection, its interior is also decorated with works from many contemporary Greek artists like Ethrion by Giorgos Zoggopoulos, and Metro's Clock by Theodoros. Since many of the city’s main administrative services, businesses and other attractions are located within a short distance of this station, most trips to the heart of Athens are concentrated around Syntagma Metro Station.
